Timing Is Everything: Book One in the Gulfport Mystery Series
TA hit-and-run that changes everything for three women: Gordy, the suspect terrified of being deported; Wynn, the victim who may lose her business; and Kat, best friend of one and in love with the other. Kat Ayalon will fight tooth and nail to find the driver who smashed into her friend Wynn and then fled. She’ll also do whatever it takes to protect the new love of her life, Gordy, whose only goal is not…
The intriguing synopsis snagged and th beautiful cover snagged my attention. This was a book I desperately needed to read.
As I sat down and ready to transport to the world of Gulfport I felt myself slightly fall into Reader heaven. It wasn’t until after the prologue that I had to force myself to finish the books.
The story is about Wynn, Kat, and Gabriella (Gordy). Wynn is hit and left to die. She doesn’t think new to the force Delgado is doing his job and Kat promises to help. Gordy's stuck in the middle as the potential suspect and Kat’s lover.
There were too many side stories and I had a hard time figuring out just who the Mail characters were and what was the exact plot.
It’s a very busy book reaching into every corner possible. While the story could’ve been better, it was too jumbled for me with some many angles. Dana and Gordy, Gordy and Kat, Kat and Wynn (I think there was an underling crush here), Wynn and Donte. It was too much really.
Definitely not the read for me. I liked to be pulled into a book and hanging on to dear life. I felt a lot was missing yet a lot was thrown in. For instance, Kat is running around playing detective, Gordy goes into hiding with her son, she has two different address.
It almost felt like separate stories were put together to create one story.
I really wanted to like this book but it fell short for me.
